5-Day Southern Circuit Starter
Day 1
Your first day is spent mostly in transit, with the chance to see wildlife on a river cruise in the evening.
Morning: We’ll pick you up at the airport or your hotel, before setting off to Selous.
You’ll enjoy a packed lunch on the road to the reserve.
Afternoon: After arriving at camp in the early afternoon (depending on traffic), you’ll drop your stuff and head out for a later afternoon boat ride down the Rufiji River. Along the way, you’ll see hippos, crocodiles, and other animals that inhabit the Rufiji and it’s banks.
You’ll have dinner back at camp, before retiring to your lodgings for the night.

Day 2
Today is all about Selous.
Morning: You’ll start with breakfast in camp, then head out on a full day game drive in Selous. Selous is home to an incredible number of species, including big animals such as giraffe, lion, elephant, crocodiles, hippos, and wild dogs.
You’ll enjoy a packed lunch at a picnic site along the way.
Afternoon: You’ll continue your game drive, exploring new areas of the vast Selous Game Reserve, which is over 50,000 sq. kilometers!
You’ll again enjoy a leisurely dinner at camp, before retiring for the night.

Day 3
After an exciting start to the day, you’ll head on to Mikumi National Park for a different style of landscape and more wildlife viewing opportunities.
Morning: It’s an early start in camp, as you head out around 6:30am for a walking safari. Accompanied by armed rangers, you’ll get to experience the reserve in an entirely new light. After your walking safari, you’ll head back to camp for breakfast.
The remainder of the morning will be spent in transit to Mikumi National Park. We’ll stop for a packed lunch enroute. After checking into your accommodation in Mikumi, you’ll head out for a sunset game drive in Mikumi.

After the wet, verdant landscape of the Selous, you’ll have the opportunity to truly experience Mikumi National Park today—a much more arid, sparse landscape that allows for excellent wildlife viewing.
Morning/Afternoon: You’ll head out early for a full day game drive. You’ll stop for a packed lunch on the way and take in the amazing vistas of Mikumi National Park.
After a full day in the park, you’ll head back to camp for dinner and a good night’s rest!

Day 4
After an amazing adventure, it’s time to head back to Dar.
Morning: You’ll enjoy a leisurely breakfast, before packing up and hitting the road.
The remainder of the morning and early afternoon will be spent in transit back to Dar es Salaam. We’ll drop you at your hotel in Dar or the ferry/airport terminal, whichever you prefer.
